AI Share of Voice: the one metric that explains your AI visibility
Positions have an index; answers have Share of Voice. The definition is simple — your brand’s share of all mentions across answers that mention any tracked brand — and the discipline is in the denominator.
Every dashboard needs one headline number. For result pages, ours is a Visibility Index over your tracked keywords. For answer engines, it is AI Share of Voice: across every answer we collect that mentions any brand you track, what share of brand mentions was yours?
Why the denominator matters
The naive metric — "how many answers mention us?" — grows when the topic grows. A platform update doubles AI usage and your count doubles without anything changing. Share of Voice normalizes for that: if the pie doubles and your slice stays 22%, you held your ground; if the pie is flat and your slice shrank, a competitor is eating you.
How we compute it
A fixed prompt roster per project — the questions your buyers actually ask, in both EN and AR.
Per-engine collection: ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot and the rest, separately, because their citation behavior differs wildly.
Mentions and citations counted separately; SoV uses mentions, citation rate gets its own chart.
Competitors on the roster from day one — the denominator is only meaningful against the brands you actually fight.
The output is one honest number per project, one trend line per engine, and one leaderboard of the third-party sources the engines cite — which is, conveniently, your link-building shortlist.
